Allyn Hoang

Allyn Hoang is a second-year student at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in broadcast journalism. Hoang is an award-winning student with honors including 1st place News Anchor/Reporter Skills USA Competition in 2006 and Media Technology Student of the Year award in 2006

In pursuit of her career, Hoang began working with NBC at the age of 17. She has co-hosted and reported for NBC 5’s “Five Talk Street,” a talk show addressing community issues. She goes to New York City each year to experience television news at the network level. Hoang has also shifted into the entertainment industry by appearing in commercials, television shows, as well as a movie.

With her inclination toward the style of news-magazine shows, Hoang aspires to work as an on-air personality for entertainment news or headline news.

An enthusiast of technology, Hoang believes online journalism is a breakthrough in the media. She is eager to expand and utilize her knowledge about the digital revolution.

Hoang takes pleasure in working with the community, most notably hosting events statewide as well as performing magic shows.
