Early Life

Jenny was born in Arlington, TX and lived there as well as Mansfield, TX. Always interested in music, she played concert and marching percussion through middle school and high school and continued playing through college with the Austin Wind Symphony and in her free time, on drum set.

She also had a passion for writing and decided to study journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. There she developed an interest in smoothies, naps, live music, running and plans to thwart Parking Transportation Services. No comment on whether these plans have been successful.

Education

She is a multimedia journalism junior and plans to utilize video, photographic and reporting skills to tell people's relevant and important stories in the new digital culture. She has taken courses in writing and editing, photography, intermediate reporting, media ethics and technology writing.

Experience

She is currently working in the multimedia department of The Daily Texan. Her clips can be found in the video gallery.

She works as the Assistant Editor for Cactus yearbook. She shared duties of the Editor-in-Chief and ensures a cohesive staff. She is also the copy editor for the yearbook, recruiting writers, holding writer meetings and editing stories.

From June 2007 to August 2007, she worked as a Life & Arts writer for The Daily Texan. She wrote film reviews and entertainment features, learning some particulars of writing and editing for a newspaper.

From September 2006 to May 2007 she worked as a general reporter for Cactus yearbook and gained interviewing and writing skills with the publication.
