Chris Cybulski

Chris Cybulski, a junior multimedia journalism major at The University of Texas, became interested in multimedia during his senior year of high school in Katy, Texas. There he began his school's television announcement program. The announcement program became a daily eight-minute broadcast that featured everything from the lunch menu to event times to special reports. Cybulski and his news partner sought to make the announcements entertaining by incorporating comedy with their reports. Cybulski was known for making the news entertaining but still informative.

After graduating in the top five percent in his class, Cybulski continued his studies at The University of Texas at Austin. He began his college career as a RTF major, Radio Television and Film. During this time, Chris became an experienced video editor and producer. He worked as a sound and visual supervisor, and also did reports for the student television show ATX Most Wanted. On top of this, Cybulski is now a reporter for the Daily Texan . After three semesters in the Film program, he decided to return to his former love: reporting.

Cybulski’s passion for reporting has not weakened since he entered the program. He is fervently seeking his degree in multimedia journalism. Cybulski sees multimedia journalism as the future of journalism. He feels that a proper reporter these days must have a full understanding of how the industry is changing in order to keep his reporting style relevant. With his degree, Chris hopes to become a broadcast journalist and to become a national reporter.

When Cybulski is not pursuing his education, he is participating in the community. An athlete at heart, Cybulski stays in shape by working out five times a week. His main athletic passion is soccer, which he still plays frequently around town. Cybulski has obtained some notoriety in the sport. During his club playing days, Cybulski struck four Division I state soccer championships in his belt. Not only was he named to the first team all state soccer team in high school, as well as the Houston Defensive MVP, but he also he was named the team and defensive MVP in high school. Another hobby that Cybulski pursues outside of school is Young Life. He is a Young Life leader in west Austin where he leads a group of junior high kids in activities each week.
